Since their collaboration on Paul Abraham's jazz operetta BALL IM SAVOY, Katharine Mehrling and Barrie Kosky have enjoyed a special artistic friendship. With their evening LONELY HOUSE (premiere: December 2019) they dedicated themselves to a composer they both admired and revered and transformed the large stage of the Komische Oper into an intimate place where the two of them presented French and American songs and songs from Kurt Weill's exile in Paris and New York in their very own way. At the Edinburgh International Festival in august 2021 her 2 Kurt Weill Conzerts LONELY HOUSE – with Barrie Kosky Piano – were a great success.
