Born in 1958, Cusch Jung began acting in his hometown Kaiserslautern at the age of twelve. His first role was Gustav with the horn in EMIL AND THE DETECTIVES . He decided to become an actor and thoroughly studied drama, song and dance. In 1981 he played his first lead in the European premiere of ANYTHING GOES.

In 1984 Helmut Baumann contracted Cush as soloist to the ensemble of the Theater des Westens, and his Judas in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR was an instant success. He soon became the audience's darling at this traditional musical house, playing, e.g., Jean-Michel in LA CAGE AUX FOLLES and Cliff in CABARET, siding Helen Schneider and Hildegard Knef. In ZUM WEISSEN ROESSL he played Sigismund, in GYPSY Herbie, and in PIRATES he was the King of Pirates. Her performed Tony in the WEST SIDE STORY, appearing in Kassel, Dortmund, Bonn and at the Metropol-Theater Berlin. Other important roles were: Che Guevara in EVITA, Vernon in THEY`RE PLAYING OUR SONG , and Klaus in SPLIT DOWN THE MIDDLE at the Theater am Kurfürstendamm.

In 1999 Cusch Jung was star attorney Billy Flynn in the successful production of CHICAGO on the stage of the Theater des Westens, the Deutsche Theater München and the Theater in Basel. From 2002 to 2004 he impersonated Harry in the musical MAMMA MIA, and played Rochefort in THE THREE MUSKETEERS in 2005/06.

In 2009 and again 2013 he was the archaeologist-presenter of WALKING WITH DINOSAURS in the german speaking countries.

In 1996 Cush Jung debuted as stage director with ALLES NUR THEATER at the Theater des Westens. He continued in 1999 at the Tribüne producing the German premiere of Neil Simon's A GIRL LIKE THE STAR-SPRANKLED BANNER. In 2000 he staged EVERY LITTLE CROOK AND NANNY, followed by the chorus line arrangements of MEINE HERREN HEUTE SEHEN SIE MICH... in Dessau, and the production of CLAIRE WALDOFF - HER LIFE. Lately Cusch Jung was very successful with the staging of MY FAIR LADY in St. Gallen, performing Higgins himself, with ANATEVKA,CABARET (performing the Conférencier), A NIGHT IN VENICE, and in Rostock, where he put ON THE TOWN on stage as well as in Tecklenburg JEKYLL & HYDE (2007), MOZART (awarded as best short-term-musical 2008 musical-journal Da Capo) and THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO 2011 - 13 in Leipzig (performing Abbe himself).
2010 until 2012 Cusch Jung played "Curtis Shank" in SISTER ACT in the Operettenhaus Hamburg.

At Oper Halle he has been seen as Captain Hook in his production of the German premiere of PETER PAN since 2014. In the same year he staged WEST SIDE STORY at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern.

From the 2015/16 season until 2021/22, Cusch Jung was head director at the Musikalische Komödie Leipzig.

He lent his voice to the adult Simba in the feature film KÖNIG DER LÖWEN, and spoke and sang the princes in the animated feature films of DÄUMELINE and SCHWANENPRINZESSIN.
He can also be heard in the feature films BUBE, DAME, KÖNIG, SPION and DER MEDICUS (Merlin).
He has also made a name for himself in the industry as a dubbing music director for various children's and young people's television programmes (e.g. LAZY TOWN, MARTHA SPRICHT, LITTLE PEOPLE etc.).
